Do you need a LESCO new connection or to change your existing connection? your search ends here. In this article, We‘ll guide you how you can apply for a new connection or change the name/load/tariff of an existing connection.

LESCO New Connection Procedure

The application process for a new connection has two options. If you want to apply in person, you must visit the LESCO office of your division, or you can apply online. The Electricity New Connection(ENC) System is our recommendation since it is quick and easy to apply online.

Please follow these steps to apply for the new connection.

  1. Visit ENC official website.
  2. Click the apply button from the menu.
  3.  Enter the bill id of any of your neighbor and select the load type of the connection you want to apply for i.e 70kW.
  4. Fill the required details and upload the following required documents (Max file size 300 KB).
    • Property document copy
    • Attested Id card copy of applicant
    • Attested Id card copy of witness
    • Neighbor Electricity Bill Copy
    • Test Report of Wiring Contractor.

Load-Wise steps and Estimated Time Required

LESCO has divided the connection types into three categories with respect to load.

  1. Category One (Up to 15kW)
  2. Category Two (16 to 70 kW / 400 volts)
  3. Category Three (71 to 500 kW / 400 volts)

Note: The consumer will have to purchase his own transformer if more than 400 volts is required.

The detail of the process and estimated time required for each category is as follows

Category One (Up to 15kW):

The consumers should apply for category one if the required load is up to 15 kW. SDO / Assistant Manager Operation can approve the request of this category. Category one process takes 30 days approximately.

The detailed steps to apply for category one connection is as follows.

On submission of the application, the office will issue a receipt.1 day 
The lesco team will check the possibility of the connection. 3 days
Cost will be estimated.2 days
The applicant will receive the demand.2 days
The applicant will submit the paid copy of demand notice.2 days
The applicant will submit Test Report.3 days
The office will prepare a list of applicants according to the dues submission date.1 day
Orders for service connection will be issued by the office.3 days.
The office will request the concerned department to provide the necessary equipment to set up the connection.3 days
The store will provide the required equipment.5 days
SDO / Assistant Manager will set up the connection after the availability of equipment.5 days

Category Two (16 to 70 kW / 400 volts)

The consumer with load between 16 to 70 kW / 400 volts should apply for category two. Category two follows the same process as category one, except the process can take up to 73 days.

Category Three (71 to 500 kW / 400 volts)

The customer with the load need between 71 to 500 kW / 400 volts should apply for category three. Category three follows the same process as category one, except the process can take up to 73 days.. The manager of Operation can approve the connection request for this category.

Change Connection Name/Tariff/Load

  1. Visit the official ENC website.
  2. From the menu, click the “Change” option.
  3. Select the type of change you need to apply for, like a change of name, load, or tariff.
  4. Input the necessary details only . For instance, if you are applying for changing load, input only the fields required for that change.
  5. Attach the following documents (each file should not exceed 300 KB):
    • A copy of your attested Id card(applicant’s ID)
    • A copy of your lesco bill
    • Proof of ownership
  6. Submit your application.
  7. You’ll get a tracking ID on submission. Save this ID for future reference.
  8. Next steps are same as mentioned for new connection application.

LESCO New Connection Tracking

You can track the status of your application for a new connection or Change of name/tariff/load. To check the status of your application, you need the tracking Id of your application.

  1. Visit the ENC site.
  2. click on track button from the sidebar.
  3. Select the application type i.e new connection or Change of name/tariff/load.
  4. Select the company which is LESCO in this case.
  5. Input your tracking Id and hit the submit button.
